Meridian HS had some special visitors over Labor Day weekend. The Atlanta Braves P.R. team came out to do a story on their manager Brian Snitker who was a part of our school's well known 1971 State Championship Finals baseball team. This is the story that inspired the book "One Shot at Forever." Snitker's wife Ronnie, was here to do the interview as well as some of the members of that team, including the 1971 coach, Mr. Sweet. Some of the memorabilia including the 1971 trophy and book are located in our trophy case. Check it out the next time you are here.

Hometown hero, Brian Snitker has been very gracious with his Snitker Foundation. The foundation has allowed our baseball field to have a wonderful scoreboard as well as facility and equipment updates. Meridian is very thankful for his generosity.

You can view some of the footage of the PR event in the Facebook link below. Some pictures of this weekend's event are also attached.

ATTENTION HAWK NATION!

Upon entry of a Meridian HS or MS athletic event, each student will receive a raffle ticket. Students will write their name on the back of the ticket and turn it into the concession stand for that game. At the end of September, each school (MES, MMS, MHS) will draw names for winners. This month, each school will have 4 winners of $25 Amazon Gift Card. The more games you attend, the better your chances. Students, mark your calendars for all of our home games. SEE YOU HERE!

This month's sponsor is brought to you by Jeff and Becca Kraft with Blackland Transport and Kraft Family Grain. The Kraft's want to wish our friends and neighbors a safe and productive harvest and remind everyone to be aware and cautious with the heavy trucks and equipment on the roads this season...GO HAWKS!

The AM pick up and the PM drop off locations at Macon park are moving to the corner of Glen and Towson. Please see the attached photos of the pick up location. We are making the move so that students can have shelter in the pavilion if we have inclement weather. Students can still play on the playground prior to pick up and then make their way to the buses when they see the buses arrive.
