For our 2nd quarter lesson Mrs. Rhodes read the book "The Gratitude Tree" by Stacey Peters. The story tells how an ordinary tree discovers the meaning of gratitude and learns to appreciate everything he has. Each student and staff member had the opportunity to make a leaf to add to our own gratitude tree. Inside each leaf the students wrote what they are grateful for. Our tree is beautiful and reminds each of us to be thankful for all that we do have!

For Little Hawks playgroup this week, we read the book Thanksgiving Is For Giving Thanks by Margaret Sutherland. Each child got to pick out an item for our “turkey stew” pot, they used pumpkin pie spice in their paint to create a pumpkin pie craft, ran in the gym to the Turkey Hop song, and played a Harvest game!! Our next playgroup will be on December 1st at the Blue Mound Community Center at 9:30am.
