MES Grandparents Day

Meridian Elementary is beginning their walk-a-thon fundraiser. We are collecting donations through September 16th to help raise funds for class field trips, extra room supplies, assemblies, technology needs, field day, and other fun activities for our students. You can donate by giving money to Meridian Elementary students or online with the following link:https://app.99pledges.com/fund/20222023me. Any amount can help us get to our goal of $15,000. Thank you to all of the support with our yearly walk-a-thon fundraiser.

The Little Hawks playgroup had a wonderful time at the Scovill Zoo yesterday!
Our next playgroup will meet Tuesday, September 6th at the Blue Mound Library. Come anytime between 10:45-11:45am to celebrate National Read a Book Day with Mrs. Holdener. Your little one can either bring their favorite book or check one out and Mrs. Holdener will read to your child. The library toys will also be out to play with too, so your child can either sit and listen to other children's favorite books or play!
Both morning and afternoon pre-k classes are still in session on this day. Little Hawks is a playgroup designed to reach our 0-3 age group and those children not currently enrolled in the Meridian Pre-K program, but all preschool aged children are welcome to come.
Here is a copy of the Little Hawks newsletter for more events available both through the school and throughout the community.

DROP OFF LINE AT THE NORTH DOORS
Dear Meridian Elementary Parents,
We would please ask that the drop off line be used just as that. The drive is a single lane, thus NO PASSING . The drive allows for a few cars at a time to drop off kids. You do not have to move up to the first spot. If your child is having problems please PARK your car and walk them in. With that being said, if a parent is having problems please do not honk at them, the child and parent are having enough stress and we want this time to start off good for all. The east drive (in front of school) is used for buses only before school. If you arrive after 8, then you can use this and park to walk your child in and sign them in.
If you need to get out of your car (help a kid open the door, hug your child, get their backpack on, find their homework, brush their hair, etc) please park your car and walk them in.
AFTER SCHOOL PICK UP
Parents please no one is to drive down the lane to pick their child up. Everyone must park, and walk up to the curb that divides the parking lot and drive. Wait there for your child to come out, the staff will be bringing them out by classes, and once they see you they will send the child out to you. We need the space up by the school to be as free as possible to give the staff and students space. so we can move this process quickly. During inclement weather, the students will be in the gym and we ask that parents come in to get their child.
Thank you all for your support
Mr. Stogsdill
