Hawk Nation, Meridian had a very rewarding night list night. Our JV football team finished their season undefeated as they held off South Fork in a really close game. At the same time, our soccer team won their semi-final regional game against Riverton. Our soccer team will now play for the Regional Championship at home on Saturday at 5:00. What a great day to be a Hawk!
Kudos to our boys soccer team on their 3-1 Regional win tonight! These boys have had a fantastic season and continue their post season on Saturday. Great job, boys! Keep it going!!

This week is busy and has some differences that are worth noting.
The JV volleyball game @ OV on Monday starts at 5:30.
On Tuesday, Meridian will be hosting the 1A Soccer Regional (2 games). The 1st soccer game starts at 4:00 and the second one will start at 6:00. Keep this in mind as the Meridian JV Football game will be starting at 7:00 that evening.
On Saturday, we will recognize our senior athletes before the football game. This is also the day our football team will recognize "pink night (day)". Later on Saturday evening, Meridian will host the 1A Soccer Regional.

Integrated Science students recently completed a STEM lab comparing the growth of peas in regular soil vs. a Martian soil simulant. The simulant is the same soil supplied to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory for experiments testing the potential to grow food on a long-term mission.
Congratulations to Liam, Grace and Carson on being selected to the Millikin Honor Band. These students will perform with others from across the state at 6pm on October 20 at the Millikin University Kirkland Fine Arts Center.

MHS is still seeking a qualified candidate for a special education teaching position that will begin October 27!
The soccer boys broke the school record! The 2025 season marks the year with the most wins for the Hawks Soccer team. It was nice they were able to do it on senior night!

PSA for Homecoming Parade on 10/8/25 If you are dropping off/attending tomorrow night's Homecoming Parade, please do not access the lot off of Macon Dr. between the football field and softball field. This lot is used for lining up those participating in the parade so we ask that you please help us keep it clear. Students can be dropped off in the main high school lot by accessing the south drive and then walk over to find their organization/team. Clubs and organizations riding in the parade should begin lining up in this lot between 5-5:15. Court members and class floats will line up in front of Meridian Middle School. We appreciate your help and look forward to a great Homecoming parade!

Our soccer team accomplished 13 total wins so far this season which ties the school record set in 2001 and 2002. They still have plenty of time left in the season to break the standing record. Go get it boys!
