McKenna K had an outstanding day in the pool as she swam for Meridian High School at the 2024 Uni High Invite! She got 2nd in the 500 free and 3rd in the 200 IM with big drops in both events. Way to go, McKenna!

The Meridian High School FCS Club will be holding its annual Crayon Drive the week of September 16-20. Students are encouraged to bring in boxes of 24 crayons and coloring books to benefit pediatric patients. at DMH. Please support this great cause!
We have some schedule changes for this week's athletic contests to pass along. Tonight, the JV football team plays Heyworth with a starting time of 5:30pm. Thursday's originally scheduled Volleyball match versus Nokomis has been moved to Wednesday, September 11. Our home Varsity football game will now be played on Thursday, Sept 12, due to a conflict with finding officials.
Last night we celebrated the 1 million dollar milestone for the Carroll Scholarship. Thank you to the Carroll family, the Community Foundation and RCC for providing our students with this wonderful opportunity! We Are Meridian!

Today Mrs. Stewart's Honors English I students worked with some shoes! They are at a point in their unit where they are talking about making assumptions about others and how easy it is to judge a book by its cover. Hopefully it was a fun way to wrap up the week and cover an important issue!
Mrs. Rappés Microbiology students traveled to the Therkildsen Field Station at Emiquon today. There, students had the opportunity to collect specimens from the wetlands and then examine them in the microscopy lab.
Mr. O'Brien's STEM class tested solar panels while working with circuits during class today.
This Friday, September 6, we will have a special recognition at halftime of our varsity football game. The Dell and Evelyn Carroll Scholarship, offered to MHS grads who attend Richland Community College, has surpassed the 1 million dollar mark in tuition paid. We invite any recipient of this scholarship to join us on the field to help us celebrate this unbelievable gift our graduates have received.
Hawks fans- this Friday, Sept 6, the MHS Varsity football team hosts Heyworth. Our home game the following week, September 13, has been moved to Thursday, September 12 @ 7pm, due to a conflict in scheduling officials. Please mark your calendar and tell your friends; next week's game is on Thursday, September 12 v Tuscola.
