So happy to see this girl again! Larou was our foreign exchange student during the 2019-20 school year. During her year, she fully immersed herself into Meridian and made the most of her year here. Today, she brought her father with her so he could see where she spent her year away from home. It was so great to listen to her relive her memories with us and share with him all she did during that time. Larou, you will always be a Meridian Hawk!

Today our 9th grade students took part in the Teens, Trucks and Traffic program put on by Hartman Safety Consulting. Our kids were able to learn about, and see, a lot of real life situations related to being new drivers and various distractions and hazards. On a side note- I had many compliments on how great our kids were which makes me so proud of them!

The MMS/MHS choir performed several pieces during tonight's choir concert. Four high school members had featured pieces and did an exceptional job! Alayna Bickel played the piano while performing The Winner Takes All. Emily Moma & Aubrey Bickel sang Memory as a duet. Senior Kenna Hartry played the guitar and sang Tennessee Orange. The choir and Mr. Anderson have worked really hard this year and did a really great job!

Today, Mrs. Lucas' Freshmen Seminar class went over to the elementary school to serve as student aides for part of the day. This is a great way for our students to connect with younger students while also helping the MES staff.

Today I had the privilege of taking Emma and Connor to the Macon County Principal's Student Recognition Lunch. Emma and Connor are truly outstanding and have had a significant impact on Meridian High School over the last four years. Their contributions to our school and community will be greatly missed, as they graduate. I could not be more proud of these two and wish them nothing but success as they move forward.

Today it was my pleasure to take Jacob and Jolie to our CIC Student Recognition lunch. These two have been great student leaders and are tremendous representatives of Meridian. I am so proud of both and I am honored to have had the opportunity to be a small part of their lives.

As part of their Distracted Driving Awareness Week, SADD was pleased to have Trooper Jordan Meyer conduct a distracted driving simulator presentation to our PE classes. Many were challenged to drive a simulated course while being required to text and face multiple other distractions. We hope this encourages our students to make smart driving choices!

Today, Ms. Bracken's Chemistry classes completed their lab in which they tie-dyed shirts, turning them from yellow/green to a deep blue color. The students really had fun with this experiment and here are a couple of pictures of the finished product!
