We had a packed house for the spring band concert this afternoon. The beginner band and 7th & 8th grade bands have worked very hard and performed several great pieces! Grace M., Eleanor M., & Emy W., this year's ILMEA All-District band participants, performed Swing Low, Sweet Chariot together. Excellent job to all our MMS musicians!
We had a great afternoon with the 5th graders on our campus. They got to hear the MHS band perform, had a lot of questions answered during a Q&A session, and took a tour of the building. They especially liked finding their names on the welcome bulletin board our MJHS created!
41 students qualified for the end-of-year AR movie incentive. These readers were treated to Del's popcorn, candy & a drink. Per 8th grade Advanced Lit request, we enjoyed Kung Fu Panda 4 on the big screen!
The MMS/MHS choir performed several pieces and featured several vocalists during tonight's spring concert. Congratulations to the choir members & Mr. Anderson on an exceptional job!

Staff had the opportunity to work with Dr. Todd Whitaker during his presentation, "What Great Teachers Do Differently." Dr. Whitaker is a nationally renowned educator and author of more than 60 books. Staff also received one of his books titled What Great Teachers Do Differently.

Trenton D. was another top fundraiser for our 8th grade, so he was today's Principal for the Day. Trenton enjoyed helping with various office tasks and picked this week's Hawk Proud recipient. It has been a lot of fun having student helpers in the office this week!
Congratulations to this week's Hawk Proud Recipient - Austin A! Austin is a creative writer and was nominated by one of his teachers for sharing one of his recent writing assignments with the class. Way to go, Austin!
Today's Principal of the Day was Brody B. He was one of the top 8th grade raffle ticket sellers for our fall fundraiser. Brody helped pass out Accelerated Reader incentive snacks as one of his tasks for today.
The Scholastic Bowl IESA Regional bracket was posted today! The Varsity Scholastic Bowl team will complete on Wednesday, April 24 at Mt. Zion Jr. High. The Hawks have a bye for the first round, so they will take on Riverton at 5:30 p.m. Good luck!
Maxine P. was the top fall raffle ticket seller in the 6th grade, so she was our principal for the day. Maxine did a great job helping with various tasks around the building and passed out treats to some of our April birthdays.
