Meridian Middle School Volleyball Tryouts will be held on Thursday, January 21 and Friday, January 22 from 1:30 to 3:30 in the middle school gym. All sixth, seventh, and eighth grade girls interested in trying out for volleyball should have a current physical on file in the school office and must turn in all necessary paperwork in order to try out. Please contact Coach Hayes at hayesmj@meridoanhawks.net or Coach Hendricks at hendricksj@meridianhawks.net with any questions. Due to the “high risk” classification that boys basketball is currently under, there will be open gyms scheduled but no team tryouts or inter-scholastic contests will take place at this time. The latest IESA update was emailed to schools yesterday.  At this time, it is uncertain that boys basketball will be able to start on January 4 or that volleyball will be able to start on January 11.  We will be watching for updates over Christmas break and will send out information as it becomes available. If your child is planning to play either boys basketball or volleyball, please make sure the physical is up-to-date in case try-outs/practice starts on time. The required paperwork can be found here - https://www.meridianhawks.net/o/middle-school/browse/20348 . If your child played softball or baseball this year, their paperwork is already on file.
